Statement of
Significance:
The three areas include the major known occurrences (A Wood, pers. Comm.) of the rare endemic plant species ACACIA HELICOPHYLLA PEDLEY. ACACIA HELICOPHYLLA is listed in Leigh et al (1981) as rare (coding 3RC/Y/17).
Description: The sites are on an extensive, much dissected sandstone plateau predominantly vegetated in eucalypt woodland with patches of shrubland on the higher, more rocky areas. The rare plant ACACIA HELICOPHYLLA is restricted to around the top of the escarpments where it occurs in shrubland or open shrubland communities, sometimes abutting eucalypt woodland.
