Statement of
Significance:
St Cuthbert's Anglican Church is of heritage significance as an intact example of late Gothic Revival church architecture in Adelaide. The building is a significant work of the architect Louis Laybourne Smith, and the internal timberwork in particular exhibits excellent craftsmanship. The church is of high integrity and retains the original layout except for the addition of a small altar in the sanctuary.

Brian Andrews says that St Cuthbert's is 'a major example in the Diocese of the Edwardian trend in English ecclesiastical architecture [and] together with St. George's, Goodwood, it is the only truly fashionable church of the dying decades of the Gothic Revival. It is also a remarkable example of the use made by Australian designers of the latest overseas ideas appearing in contemporary books and journals'.
